Miracle Method ranked 1st in Franchisee Satisfaction by Franchise Business Review

We were recently ranked 1st in Franchisee Satisfaction for Home Services franchises by Franchise Business Review at their 2011 International Franchise Association conference in Las Vegas. It was such an honor to receive this recognition from such a respected organization like Franchise Business Review.  Miracle Method also received:

  • 4th in Franchisee Satisfaction for Mid Size Franchises, 100 – 199 units
  • 11th overall in FBR’s Best of the Best Category regardless of size
  • 18th in Top Low Cost Franchises

The Franchise Business Review gave Miracle Method an index score of 81.97, almost 20 points higher than the average ranking. According to FBR their rankings are based on “interviews and current franchisees’ opinions of their franchisor” as well as “training and support, financial opportunity, franchise/franchisor relationship, competition and overall satisfaction with the franchisor.”

Miracle Method Featured on the Today Show

We were sad to hear that Today Show’s Meredith Vieira will be leaving the popular morning television show in June to spend more time with her family. Her last on air appearance is scheduled for June 8th. We were honored to be featured on the Today Show with Al Roker and “Mr. Fix-It” himself, Lou Manfredini. Why Bathtub Refinishing is Best Left to the Professionals

Bathtub refinishing requires use of industrial strength chemical and solvents.

Refinishing bathtubs are, in much the same way as we discuss refinishing countertops in a previous post, jobs best left to professionals.

With that in mind, DIY refinishing for a bathtub is almost always a poor choice.  Outside the soul merit that it might be cheaper than a professionally done refinishing, there are many detriments.  In order to refinish a bathtub, you must first fully clean and remove any build-up of mineral deposits, soap scum, body oils, etc., and utilize powerful industrial-strength chemicals that require, at the very least, rubber gloves, goggles, and a breathing respirator,  to ready the tub before any refinishing.

Only after the tub is cleaned and any damage repaired, can you begin refinishing by bonding and priming the entirety of the tub and then applying the topcoat.  If any one of these steps is lax or missing, the refinishing job might as well be scrapped.  Without a proven bonding agent to fuse the new finish onto the old surface, you are really just doing a temporary “paint” job.  Good refinishing requires an effective bonding agent and hi tech acrylic resins to provide the best results.

Preventing and Treating Mold and Mildew

Squeegee down the walls, tub, and curtain (if possible) to prevent moisture from creating mold or mildew.

Here at Miracle Method, we firmly believe that surface refinishing is the best choice for bathtubs, ceramic tile, and kitchen countertops that need surface repair, making them look like new.  That said, we also firmly believe in routine maintenance and care for bathtubs.  Today, we’re going to be discussing preventing and removing mold and mildew.

Mold and mildew go beyond simply making a room unattractive. It can disperse microscopic spores into the homes air.  This is harmful to your health, and can cause anything from a mild allergic reaction to much more serious ailments.

Mold and mildew grow wherever there are high amounts of moisture and humidity.  For bathtubs, sinks, and kitchen countertops, one of the simplest preventative measures comes from using a squeegee to direct any remaining water or other liquids down the nearest drain.  With showers and bathtubs, post usage, squeegee down the glass doors or curtains as best you can.  All this help prevent the accumulation of moisture that can spawn mold or mildew.

You can help prevent mold and mildew by using typical household cleaning supplies such as bleach, dish soap, detergent and hot water to scrub out the respective areas.

For shower curtains (fabric or plastic), the simplest solution is putting them in a washing machine with hot water, heavy detergent, and a little color-safe bleach (3/4th of a cup).  After it’s washed, hang it up and let it air dry in a dry area.

For everything else, start with a couple spoonfuls of dish soap mixed with a bucket of hot water, and a non-scratch brush or scouring pad.  We recommend scrubbing the problem areas, as well as the surrounding areas.
