The home remodeling industry is booming, and it isn’t showing any signs of slowing down. Not only is the industry currently celebrating National Home Remodeling Month—more Americans are also taking on remodeling and refinishing projects in their homes across the country. According to information from the most recent American Housing Survey, Americans spent nearly $13 billion on kitchen remodels and more than $9 billion on bathroom remodels in 2013 alone.
Miracle Method, the largest professional bathroom and kitchen refinishing franchise in the country, is growing along with the industry. The brand already boasts a strong network of more than 100 territories across the U.S. and Canada that generates more than $50 million in annual sales. But now it’s looking to add between 15 and 20 new franchisees to its system before the end of the year. New Miracle Method franchisees can expect to hit the ground running—the brand offers an unparalleled training program out of its corporate home in Colorado Springs, Colorado that immediately sets them up for success.
“Our training program is not something we take lightly. We have incredibly high standards for all of our franchisees and technicians,” said John Tubiolo, Miracle Method’s vice president of franchise sales and development. “We’ve been doing this for more than 37 years, so we know what it takes to fully prepare our business partners for strong entrances into the ever-evolving refinishing industry.”
That means no shortcuts during training—Miracle Method’s program includes three weeks of technical training as well as five days that cover marketing, sales and other administrative details. The program, which is for both franchisees and their teams of technicians, starts off in the classroom. Then they move their skills to a workshop in order to apply what they’ve learned in a controlled environment.
The next step is then going out into the field. Miracle Method operates a local franchise out of its corporate headquarters, so it’s able to incorporate real, hands-on experience in its training program. The brand also offers strategic business planning training for all of its franchisees. In fact, local marketing and advertising efforts go live while franchisees are completing their last week of training so their businesses are already building momentum by the time they get back home.
“Opening a business can be extremely overwhelming, so we try to make it as simple as possible and hold our franchisees’ hands throughout the entire process,” said Erin Gilliam, marketing manager for Miracle Method. “We’re partners with them in their new franchise. That’s why Miracle Method’s training program is so comprehensive. It allows franchisees to get off the ground without a hitch.”
Miracle Method’s training doesn’t stop after its initial three-week program—the brand offers other workshops throughout the year. That gives franchisees and technicians the opportunity to keep up with best practices and industry trends.
“We want our franchisees to be 100 percent confident in their technicians’ abilities to perform well in the field no matter what type of job they encounter. That’s why we don’t just train them once and call it good” said Tubiolo. “We always keep the lines of communication between franchisees and our corporate team open. Our initial training program establishes a relationship that only keeps growing and evolving as businesses expand.”
